As a major London housing developer, Notting Hill Housing recognises the need for community engagement, and the increasing emphasis on Localism raises the importance of this approach. Local Dialogue has managed consultation and communications programmes for several key developments where their knowledge and professional approach has been an important factor in helping us to secure planning approvals.

Supporting the delivery of Northern England expansion plans
Published by Ian Doak | Date June 16, 2011

Since 2008, Local Dialogue has helped deliver a string of planning successes for Sainsbury’s across the north with permissions granted for new stores in Morecambe and Crewe, and a number of store extensions including Wigan, Sunderland, Nantwich, Preston and Monks Cross.
Morecambe: approval for a new 40,000 sq ft store with considerable backing from the local community.
Crewe: unanimous committee support for a new 60,000 sq ft store in the town centre.
Wigan: go-ahead for 8,000 sq ft store extension at Marus Bridge.
Sunderland: 33,000 sq ft store extension along with the replacement of stand-alone retail units approved for Silksworth Lane store.
Nantwich: unanimous approval to replace existing store with a larger and improved store on the Middlewich Road site.
Preston: 25,000 sq ft side extension, mezzanine level customer restaurant and car park access proposals approved.
Monks Cross: permission for 20,000 sq ft extension, including mezzanine level customer restaurant, along with car park improvements.
Heaton Park: permission to extend the existing store to 100,000 sq ft, making it one of the largest Sainsbury’s stores in the country.
Whitby: consent for a new 30,000 sq ft store on former industrial land despite the planning officers recommendation to refuse the application.
Over the next month we expect decisions on planning applications for a number of schemes, including, new stores in Sheffield and Sunderland and extensions to existing stores in Cheadle and Sheffield.
