Getting Local Dialogue on board was one of the best decisions we made. Their support and advice has been invaluable and they have really helped smooth the whole process.

Supporting investment into the UK electricity transmission network
Published by Ian Doak | Date June 24, 2011

Local Dialogue is retained as part of the Community Relations Framework, working on behalf of National Grid on a number of nationally important projects across the UK, including:
East Thurrock Connection Project
Local Dialogue has been consulting on options for connecting a 900MW gas-fired power station proposed by InterGen to the national electricity transmission network.
Targeted at over 13,000 people in the local area, consultation has already taken place on two stages of the project – a long list and subsequent short list of sites for a 400kv substation and associated connections – with a third and final stage starting this summer.
North London Reinforcement Project
Consulting with over 75,000 Londoners around plans to upgrade 22 km of electricity lines between Waltham Cross and Hackney, including work to, or in the vicinity of, four substations. The overhead line will be upgraded to operate at a capacity of 400kv (kilovolts) meaning that subsequent works are required to four key substations along the route.
Undergrounding Policy Consultation
Local Dialogue has been appointed to undertake a comprehensive nationwide consultation around its approach to undergrounding electricity lines. The results of the consultation will be presented to National Grid and will be used to inform their future approach to undergrounding electricity lines.
We are also working with National Grid on several of other infrastructure, remediation, substation and property projects across the UK.
